This combination plate from China showcases contrasting textures, making it distinct from previous discoveries in this mining region. A large shard of light-colored matrix serves as the base for a plate covered in numerous captivating, zoned, greenish Fluorite cubes. These cubes are coated with a finely crystalline “frost” of Calcite balls, creating a beautiful contrast and varying texture. The rich purple, transparent Fluorites exhibit internal phantoms, resulting in a “cube inside a cube” effect that is further enhanced by the underlying purple Calcite-Quartz matrix and the white Calcite coating certain crystal faces. These frosted faces also feature a sparkling dusting of small, brassy-colored Calcite, adding to the visual appeal.
