A superb twin-shaped crystal of Lazurite from Afghanistan, aesthetically positioned on a white marble matrix. The Lazurite crystals, measuring 3.8 cm and 2.7 cm, showcase exceptional color and luster for this typically rock-forming mineral, creating a striking contrast against the matrix. Sourced from the classic, ancient locality for Lapis Lazuli, this material has been revered as the “stone of kings” since before Biblical times. This specimen features a sharp, well-exposed crystal, far exceeding the standard quality typically found. Unlike some specimens, I can assure you that this crystal is completely natural and has not been enhanced.
The aesthetics and quality are truly first-class in every aspect. This remarkable piece comes from a newly discovered pocket and the pieces we acquired just a few weeks ago.
